National parks

In Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, located on the Big Island of Hawai'i, you can visit Kilauea, the worlds' most active volcano, hike the Kilauea Iki Trail, and witness a real volcanic eruption! You can also walk through Thurston Lava Tube, an underground tunnel coated with dried out lava, and look for the fossilized footprints of the Hawaiian warriors on the Ka'u Desert Trail.

Haleakala National Park is located on Maui, the second largest Hawaiian island. Millions of visitors come to the park's highest point every day to witness the stunning sunrise.

Haleakala is a dormant volcano and also the world's largest. Haleakala Crater, which you may have heard of, is actually not a crater but a dried lava mountain! The word "Haleakala" means "House of the Sun."
