KONA COFFEE
Did you know? Hawaii is the only state in the U.S. that produces coffee!

Due to rich volcanic soil, tropical climate, and light winds and rain, Hawaii is a perfect climate for coffee. The most famous Hawaiian coffee is Kona coffee.

SPAM
(Scrumptious Processed Assorted Meats)

The thing about Hawaiians is that they really love SPAM. About 6 million cans of SPAM are eaten in Hawaii every year.  In World War II military troops were stationed in Hawaii.  The government wanted to send food to these soldiers, so they sent them SPAM.  It turns out so much SPAM was shipped to Hawaii that some of it was sold to the locals.  Some of the locals happened to be of Asian descent that they started to put SPAM in their dishes. The result was so good that the popularity of SPAM in Hawaii exploded.
